  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 24 August 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05718

That the Parliament welcomes a new app launched by The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, which, it understands, makes it easy for guide dog owners to report access refusals, get support, or educate businesses on access rights; notes with concern that 76% of guide dog owners have been refused access to a business or service; understands that 49% of guide dogs owners said that they have changed or restricted their plans because they were worried about being challenged or refused access to a business or service; further understands that The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is working with businesses to encourage them to support the campaign and demonstrate their support by using window stickers, and calls on all businesses and services to be aware of their responsibilities under The Equality Act 2010.
