The Inaugural Renfrew Pipe Band Competition

That the Parliament recognises the inaugural Renfrew Pipe Band Competition, which takes place on 23 July 2022; welcomes the new event, which is free to attend at Robertson Park, Renfrew; notes the participation of local bands including Renfrewshire Schools, Paisley and District RBL Pipe Band, Kilbarchan Pipe Band and others from elsewhere in Scotland; further notes that organisers will provide other entertainment including a food village and farmers' market; appreciates what it sees as the importance of piping as an integral part of Scottish cultural heritage; congratulates the event’s chieftain, the poet Shaun Moore, who is the Tannahill Makar for Renfrewshire, and wishes good luck to everyone in the competition.
