Shirley Cronnie Rewards Local Cancer Unit Staff Who Helped Her

  • Submitted by: Finlay Carson, Galloway and West Dumfries, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 09 August 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05462

That the Parliament warmly congratulates Shirley Cronnie, a mother of three from Minnigaff, who has raised more than £1,400 for NHS Dumfries and Galloway’s oncology unit after creating pastel and chalk drawings following her own cancer diagnosis; understands that Shirley made the donation on her last day of treatment at the Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary to staff members who looked after her during her cancer treatment; hopes that the funding raised from online sales on her social media page will further help the unit in its future work with other cancer patients; recognises also Shirley's previous charity work for a number of local and national organisations, and acknowledges the wonderful work carried out by the oncology unit in helping cancer patients.
