  • Motion reference: S6M-05053

That the Parliament congratulates the Communities Housing Trust (CHT) on winning the Responsible Housing Award for coordinating their Regenerating A Rural Highland Community project in Achtercairn, Gairloch; understands that CHT won the "More than a roof – supporting communities of equal opportunities" category; commends CHT for, it believes, tackling depopulation in the Highlands by building 25 homes, delivered in partnership with Albyn Housing Association and the Highland Council; understands that the home tenures include social rent, low-cost home ownership and rent to buy; celebrates the building of a new tourist information hub and facilities that provide training from University of the Highlands and Islands and the Air Training Corps; acknowledges that the new tourist information hub is the first public building in Scotland to be awarded Passivhaus status; recognises what it sees as the importance of developing 20-minute neighbourhoods across Scotland and tackling depopulation in rural areas, and wishes CHT all the best for their future projects across Scotland.
