That the Parliament acknowledges the reported long-term and enduring pain and trauma caused by the shattering events in Kashmir in the early 1990s; understands that an estimated 100,000 people out of the total minority Kashmiri Hindu population of 140,000 at the time left their homeland in the space of a few weeks while others lost their lives; notes the recent release of the film, The Kashmir Files, by Vivek Agnihotri and its contribution to a wider debate on the circumstances of those times; encourages the international community to begin taking a greater interest in the issue and to adopt a proactive approach towards providing support in healing what it considers to be long-term community division; acknowledges the growing and thriving Hindu community in Eastwood, and understands that many have a personal interest and connection to the events of the early 1990s.
