Ayrshire’s Cerys McCrindle and Laura Logan Named for World Championship Event

That the Parliament congratulates Prestwick’s Cerys McCrindle and Coylton’s Laura Logan, of South Ayrshire’s Paralympian Squad, as they have been named in Team GB; appreciates that they have been selected for a world championship event to take place in Portugal later this year; understands that the pair have made part of a 30-strong team for the Downs Syndrome International Swimming Organisation; further understands that the girls are just two of three members from Scotland to have gained qualifying times to be selected for the GB team; understands that Cerys is looking to compete in several freestyle events and relay to build on previously-held European records, and to defend the 4x50m girls freestyle relay European record; notes that Laura will compete in the 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly with hopes to make the final; further notes that the event will be held from 15 to 23 October 2022 in Albufeira, and wishes Cerys and Laura well in the upcoming championships.
