Almost £250,000 Lottery Funding for South Angus Community Groups

  • Submitted by: Graeme Dey, Angus South, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 20 May 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04514

That the Parliament congratulates the four community groups across South Angus that have recently been successful in securing National Lottery funding; notes that the £3,460 awarded to Arbroath Flower Club will allow the group to put on local flower arranging classes; understands that £9,915 will enable the C.A.F.E. Project to open the café project hub twice a week for a new drop-in service for older residents of Arbroath; recognises that the intention of Round O Five O is to employ a development worker and manager to run a new community hub with its £84,798; considers that the £150,000 going to Monifieth Befriending Scheme will support a project matching up volunteers with older, isolated people or those who have experienced bereavement, and commends all four groups on all the good work they do in their communities.
