That the Parliament welcomes ongoing events for the Year of Stories, which is VisitScotland’s theme for 2022; understands that the year-long programme comprises of over 60 events taking in storytelling, cinema, music, sculpture trails, nature walks, stargazing and more to celebrate what it sees as Scotland's rich tradition of storytelling; further understands that VisitScotland regards stories, whether spoken, written, sung, performed or filmed, a vital part of the country's culture; believes that stories can give a sense of place, history and belonging and form an important part of national consciousness and identity, and hopes that this programme of events will inspire more people to learn more about the stories of Scotland.
