Former Housekeeper at Castle of Mey Passes Away

  • Submitted by: Edward Mountain, Highlands and Islands, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 09 March 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-03495

That the Parliament recognises the work of June Webster, a former housekeeper at the Castle of Mey, who sadly passed away on 25 February 2022; understands that Mrs Webster and her late husband Sandy, worked at the castle for many years when it was the Caithness home of the Queen Mother; notes that June received the Royal Victorian Medal (RVM) for services to the Royal family, and understands that after retirement, June continued to support the Castle of Mey, taking a keen interest in how it developed into a major tourist attraction, whilst still maintaining a strong sense of the past.
