  • Submitted by: Bob Doris, Glasgow Maryhill and Springburn, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 04 February 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-03025

That the Parliament commends Robbie McDougall, from Royston, on his selection to represent Scotland at the Young Chef Olympiad, a global competition of the world’s best and brightest young chefs; recognises what it sees as the hard work that Robbie has put into preparing for this competition, and into his studies at City of Glasgow College, where he is studying towards his HND in Professional Cookery; wishes Robbie well in the Young Chef Olympiad, which started on the 31 January 2022; understands that Robbie’s group, in which he faces competitors from Switzerland, Uzbekistan, and Equatorial Guinea in the first round, started on 1 February 2022; further understands that COVID-19 has presented difficulties and challenges with regard to this Olympiad, which in the past has taken place in India, but is being conducted online again in 2022, and that contestants, including Robbie, have faced barriers gaining qualifications, as a result of the pandemic, and wishes Robbie McDougall every success in pursuing his chosen career path.
