To ask the Scottish Executive how much funding it has provided to trade unions in each year since 1999, broken down by (a) union and (b) budget heading.
Answer
Over the period since1999, the Scottish Executive has provided funding to the STUC and a number of individualtrade unions where such funding has been consistent with Executive policy and metappropriate programme criteria. The information requested, for each financial yearand broken down by trade union and budget heading, has been incorporated in a series of tables which have been placedin the Scottish Parliament Information Centre (Bib. number 43956).
The funding providedhas included, for example, support towards the implementation of the Scottish UnionLearning Fund and towards community-based adult learning.
