Question

To ask the Scottish Government what assessment it has made of the potential for new nuclear development at Torness to increase employment beyond the 851 civil nuclear jobs currently supported at the site.

Answer

The Scottish Government does not support the construction of new nuclear fission power stations under current technologies. We have therefore made no assessment of the potential employment effects of new nuclear development at Torness.
