Question

To ask the Scottish Government, further to the commitment in Scottish National Party’s 2026 manifesto to enact a statutory price cap on essential food items, what discussions it has had with Local Authority Trading Standards (LATS) regarding the proposal.

We are engaging constructively with all relevant stakeholders to support considered and informed discussion on this policy, and to ensure effective implementation that delivers on our core aim of making the weekly shop more affordable.
