To ask the Scottish Government whether designs have been prepared for track doubling of single track sections of the Highland Main Line.

The Highland Main Line improvements were delivered further to the Strategic Transport Projects Review 1 (STPR1) published by Transport Scotland in 2009.
The Scottish Government does not hold any recent information related to design work, that the Member is seeking.
