Question

To ask the Scottish Government whether it is aware of the reported ongoing crisis affecting pork farmers in Scotland and, if so, what immediate measures it plans to introduce to assist them.

Answer

The Scottish Government is aware of the issues being experienced by the Scottish pig industry. I met with representatives on 10 June and I am considering what support the Scottish Government can provide, both in the short term and in the longer term to ensure the sustainability of this important sector.
