Question

To ask the Scottish Government how much it spent on winter resilience for the 2015-16 season.

Answer

Scotland is well known for its changeable weather, and we need to be resilient all year, not just in Winter. The Ready for Winter Campaign which ran in 2015 to raise awareness of the risks from all kinds of severe weather cost £155,000. This is just one part of the work we do to build resilience into every aspect of life in Scotland, throughout the year.

Transport Scotland have confirmed that their total spend on winter maintenance service during 2015-16 was £12.9m.
