Question

To ask the Scottish Executive how many cases referred to the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission have resulted in a convicted person having their conviction overturned.

Answer

The Scottish Criminal Cases ReviewCommission (SCCRC) was established by statute on 1 April 1999. The following tableprovides information on all applications received by the SCCRC since its establishmentuntil 31 March 2006 for review of convictions and sentence and the outcomeof these applications.
