Deputy Convener
Liam Kerr’s departure also means that we need to choose a new deputy convener. The Parliament has agreed that only members of the Scottish Conservative Party are eligible for nomination as deputy convener. I understand that Graham Simpson is the party’s nominee for the post—he is rising to high office on the committee straight away.
I will assume that all members agree to Graham Simpson being the new deputy convener unless a member indicates otherwise.
Graham Simpson was chosen as deputy convener.
I congratulate Graham on his appointment and welcome him to the committee.
