Subordinate Legislation

The Convener:

The committee is to consider the Teachers' Superannuation (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2001 (SSI 2001/291) and the Teachers' Superannuation (Additional Voluntary Contributions) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2001 (SSI 2001/292), which are subject to the negative procedure. Members have an Executive note and Christine Marr is here from the Executive to answer questions that members might have on the regulations.

I declare an interest in that somewhere down the line I will be affected by the superannuation scheme.

In that regard, I will also be affected, although I anticipate a meagre pension.

My wife will also be affected.

The Convener:

We have so many teachers. If members have no questions for Christine Marr on the regulations, I assume that there are no strong feelings and that the committee does not need to make recommendations to Parliament on the regulations. Thank you, Christine, for coming to the committee.

Was her journey necessary?

Her contribution was the best that we have had for some time.
