Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to review the operation of the law in relation to abusive and threatening communication.

15 June 2017: The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government, Police Scotland, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, Scottish Women’s Aid, Respect and Victim Support Scotland. Link to the Official Report 15 June 2017

9 November 2017: The Committee agreed to defer further consideration of the petition until the Review of Hate Crime Legislation is concluded and its recommendations published. Link to Official Report 9 November 2017

Please sign this petition to ensure, in Scotland, that all individuals who send threatening or abusive text messages are charged accordingly.

This should have been passed years ago. Too many people have suffered. Well done Irene for doing this. I hope that you find peace and happiness again x
