Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to make an Order under Section 5 of the Freedom of Information Act (Scotland) 2002 to make all housing associations subject to the provisions of that Act. This will ensure that housing associations are more open, transparent and accountable to all their stakeholders, i.e. tenants and factored homeowners.

9 December 2014: The Committee took evidence from Anne Booth, and Sean Clerkin. The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government, the Scottish Information Commissioner, a selection of registered social landlords, the Campaign for Freedom of Information in Scotland, the Scottish Housing Regulator, the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum of Housing Associations, the Tenants Information Service, the Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland, the Scottish Tenants Organisation and the Tenant Participation Advisory Service. 24 June 2015: The Infrastructure and Capital Investment Committee agreed to write to a range of housing associations, the petitioner and the Scottish Government on issues raised  in discussion. Link to Official Report 24 June 2015

18 November 2015: The Infrastructure and Capital Investment Committee agreed to write to the petitioner asking for their views on whether they are content to close the petition, in the light of the Scottish Government's intention to carry out a consultation on the issues raised. 6 January 2016: The Infrastructure and Capital Investment Committee agreed to keep the petition open and to include it in its legacy paper for its successor committee to consider further in Session 5. Link to Official Report 6 January 2016

In Session 5, the Local Government and Communities Committee was established with a remit to consider and report on communities, housing, local government, planning and regeneration matters falling within the responsibility of the Cabinet Secretary for Communities, Social Security and Equalities. 29 March 2017: The Local Government and Communities Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government for an update and indicative timescale in relation to the outcome of its consultation and update the petitioner. Link to Official Report 29 March 2017.
