Free Visits and Guided Tours

All visits and guided tours of the Scottish Parliament are free of charge.

During July and August the Debating Chamber will be closed to all visitors and tour groups while maintenance takes place. Guided tours will still operate at this time but without access to the Debating Chamber.  

Public access to the Scottish Parliament building otherwise remains as usual – why not visit our new, free exhibition “A Parliament for the People”, the Parliament’s Café and our Parliament Shop?


Self-guided visit

Discover the visitor areas of the Scottish Parliament, including the Debating Chamber, 6 days a week – Monday to Saturday. Spend as long as you like, a brief visit may take 30 minutes. No booking is required.

A Parliament for the People is a new exhibition which will introduce you to the role of the Scottish Parliament and give you the opportunity to explore Scotland’s fascinating parliamentary history.
