Official Report

  • Subordinate Legislation Committee 22 June 2010
      • Decision on Taking Business in Private
        • The Convener (Jamie Stone):
I welcome everyone to the 21st meeting in 2010 of the Subordinate Legislation Committee. We have apologies from Elaine Smith. I ask members to turn off their mobiles and BlackBerrys.

Agenda item 1 is to decide whether to take in private items 4, 5 and 6, under which the committee will discuss respectively the contents of its draft reports on the Historic Environment (Amendment) (Scotland) Bill and the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Bill, and questions on the Crofting Reform (Scotland) Bill. Do members agree to take those items in private?

          Members indicated agreement.

      • Instruments subject to Annulment
        • Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 (Consequential Modifications) Order 2010 (SSI 2010/222)
          • The Convener:
There is a drafting error in article 13. The cross-reference to paragraph (3)(a)(iii) in schedule 2 to the Rural Development Contracts (Rural Priorities) (Scotland) Regulations 2008 (SSI 2008/100) should be to paragraph (3)(d)(iii). That should not affect the operation of the order, which the Scottish Government has undertaken to correct by an amendment in due course. It is a small point. Do members agree to report accordingly?

            Members indicated agreement.

        • Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2010 (SSI 2010/225)

        • Solvent Emissions (Scotland) Regulations 2010 (SSI 2010/236)

          • The committee agreed that no points arose on the instruments.
