    • Decision on Taking Business in Private
      • The Convener (Bob Doris):

Good morning, and welcome to the 26th meeting in 2018 of the Social Security Committee. I remind everyone present to turn mobile phones and other devices to silent mode so that they do not disrupt the meeting. We have received apologies from George Adam MSP, who unfortunately is unlikely to be able to attend.

Agenda item 1 is a decision on taking business in private. Do members agree to consider in private our draft report on social security and in-work poverty at this meeting, under item 3, and at any future meetings at which we are required to consider it?

        Members indicated agreement.

    • Subordinate Legislation
      • First-tier Tribunal for Scotland Social Security Chamber (Rules of Procedure) Amendment Regulations 2018 (SSI 2018/343)
        • The Convener:

Agenda item 2 is subordinate legislation. The instrument is subject to the negative procedure. I refer members to paper 1, which is a note by the committee clerk. The original instrument was drawn to the attention of the Parliament by the Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee at its meeting on 2 October, and the Scottish Government agreed to lay an amending instrument to correct the errors. The Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee has not raised any issues regarding the instrument. Is the committee content to note it?

          Members indicated agreement.

        • The Convener:

That ends the rather short public part of our meeting. We now move to agenda item 3, which we previously agreed to take in private.

09:06 Meeting continued in private until 11:32.
