Report

The Committee published its Stage 1 Report on the Higher Education Governance (Scotland) Bill on 17 December 2015. 

The Scottish Government responded to the report on 11 January 2016.

The Scottish Government has also sent correspondence on Classification of Scottish Higher Education Institutions by the Office for National Statistics.

The Scottish Funding Council has sent a response to the Committee report in relation to paragraph 84 of the report which made specific reference to the Scottish Funding Council.

Additional Information

 The Convener wrote to the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning asking some factual questions around the Bill to help inform its scrutiny.

The Scottish Government provided the following response.

Universities Scotland wrote to the Scottish Government asking a number of questions about the Higher Education Governance (Scotland) Bill.  The Scottish Government responded to Universities Scotland on 16 October 2015.

Following receipt of this letter, Universities Scotland wrote to the Scottish Government again seeking further information.
