The Committee is currently considering the following public petitions
Petition by Kim Hartley on behalf of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to demonstrate how its policies and guidelines ensure local authorities and NHS boards protect provision of quality speech and language therapy services for all people with speech/language communication support needs and/or swallowing difficulties.
At its meeting on 6 November 2012 the Committee agreed to write to Scottish Government and COSLA.
At its meeting on 5 February 2013, the Committee continued its consideration of the petition and commissioned a survey of Health Board and Local Authority provision of SLT services.
At its meeting on 4 March 2014, the Committee considered an analysis of a survey of SLT provision completed by Health Boards and Local Authorities. It was subsequently agreed to write to the Scottish Government for comment on the issues raised.
