The Committee will take evidence on the budget, relating to issues under its remit, on 5 and 26 October from the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment and the Minister for the Environment and Climate Change respectively.
The evidence session on 5 October will cover all aspects of the Committee’s remit except climate change (e.g. agriculture, fisheries and rural development, environment and natural heritage, land reform, water quality regulation and sustainable development) and the deadline for receipt of submissions on those issues is Thursday 29 September. The Committee is aware that the deadline for submissions is very short and therefore will accept late submissions on this occasion. Although late submissions will not feed into this evidence session, they will be considered by the Committee, help inform the Committee’s report, and will be reproduced as part of its report to the Finance Committee.
The evidence session on 26 October will cover the climate change aspects of the budget and the deadline for receipt of submissions is Wednesday 19 October.
The Committee welcomes written evidence in English, Gaelic or any other language and submissions should be sent electronically to: [email protected]
