Petition by Ms Mary Roy calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to (a) recognise the ongoing needs of survivors of abuse in care (b) recognise the need for a specialised service as “in care” abuse issues are different and (c) therefore continue funding In Care Survivors Service Scotland for a further period.

7 February 2012: The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 on the grounds that the Scottish Government has agreed to fund the In Care Survivors Service Scotland (ICSSS) for the next spending review period subject to the passing of the Budget Bill; has confirmed that the terms of reference for consultation on a National Confidential Forum are being developed which will inform what survivors themselves consider is required and ICSSS forms part of the options available and has confirmed it will continue to work with ICSSS to explore alternative funding streams.
