The Committee wants to hear your views on the Bill. Please feel free to address any, or all, of the policy issues contained in the Bill.
It would be helpful if any written submissions you make could address the following questions:
- What are your views on the automatic pardon granted by the Bill?
- The system suggested in the Bill is that those convicted of historical offences can apply, in writing, to the Scottish Government for those offences to be ‘disregarded’ (e.g. ignored for all intents and purposes). Do you think there are any barriers in adopting this approach?
- Do you feel the Bill goes far enough to address the impact on the life outcomes and wellbeing of men who were convicted under past discriminatory laws in Scotland?
- Do you have any other comments regarding the Bill?
Please read the full call for views document for information on how to send us your views, and what we will do with you evidence. If you wish your submission to be treated confidentially, please see the document for further information.
Please make sure you send us your views by 6pm on Friday 19 January 2018.
