About the Bill

A Bill for an Act of the Scottish Parliament to amend the law on the regulation of social landlords and to reduce the influence of local authorities over registered social landlords.

Current Status of the Bill

This Scottish Government Bill was introduced by the Cabinet Secretary for Communities, Social Security and Equalities, Angela Constance MSP, on 4 September 2017.

Stage 1

The Parliamentary Bureau has yet to designate a lead committee for the Bill. As the Bill falls within the remit of the Local Government and Communities Committee, it is expected that the Committee will be designated as the lead committee for the Bill.

Call for Views

The Committee has today, Friday 8 September 2017, launched a call for written views as part of its scrutiny of the Housing Amendment (Scotland) Bill. Organisations and individuals are invited to submit written views to the Committee.
