Scottish Government’s Draft Budget 2017-18

 

About the Inquiry

The Committee’s scrutiny of the Scottish Government’s Draft Budget for 2017-18 will focus on two areas:

  1.  the spending of the enterprise agencies, and 
  2. programmes relating to energy efficiency/fuel poverty. 

In addition, Scotland's Economic Strategy sets out the four themes: investment, innovation, inclusive growth and internationalisation. This year, the Committee will particularly focus on investment.

Timetable

 Meetings will take place in December, and the Committee is required to report its findings to the Finance Committee early in January 2017. The Finance Committee has responsibility for overseeing the Parliament’s scrutiny of the Scottish Government’s Draft Budget. You can find relevant information it has already collated here.

Evidence

At its meeting on 6 December 2016, the Committee took evidence from Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Scottish Enterprise. 

At its meeting on 13 December 2016, the Committee will take evidence from Energy Action Scotland, Scottish Rural Poverty Taskforce, Existing Homes Alliance Scotland and Professor David Sigsworth.
