The 2015/16 audit of NHS Tayside: Financial sustainability

At its meeting on 3 November 2016, the Committee took evidence from the Auditor General for Scotland and Audit Scotland on the above report. The Committee agreed to seek to hold a public Committee meeting in Dundee to discuss issues raised in the audit. This meeting is due to take place on the 15th December 2016. At its meeting on 15 December 2016 in Dundee City Chambers, the Committee held a roundtable session with patients' groups (Deaf Links, PAMIS, Angus Cardiac Group and Pain Association Scotland) and trade unions (Unite, UNISON and the Royal College of Nursing) on the above report. The Committee then took evidence from NHS Tayside senior management, their internal auditor and their external auditor on the above report. At its meeting on 30 March 2017, the Committee took evidence on this report from senior NHS Tayside officials. The Committee agreed to write to the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport regarding NHS Tayside's funding. The Committee also agreed to write to the Scottish Government and to NHS Tayside to follow up on issues raised in evidence.
