Climate Change (Annual Targets) (Scotland) Order 2016 [draft]
The Committee reports to the Parliament as follows—
1. The Climate Change (Annual Targets) (Scotland) Order 2016 [draft] was laid before the Parliament on 7 September 2016 and referred to the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform Committee.
2. The Climate Change (Annual Targets) (Scotland) Order 2016 [draft] is subject to affirmative procedure (Rule 10.6). It is for the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform Committee to recommend to the Parliament whether the Order should be approved.
3. At its meeting on the 4 October 2016, the Committee took evidence on the Climate Change (Annual Targets) (Scotland) Order 2016 [draft] from—
- Roseanna Cunningham, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform,
- John Ireland, Deputy Director of Low Carbon Economy Division; and
- Tom Russon, Climate Change Policy Advisor, Scottish Government.
4. Following the evidence session, Roseanna Cunningham moved motion S5M-01520—
That the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform Committee recommends that the Climate Change (Annual Targets) (Scotland) Order 2016 [draft] be approved.
The motion was agreed to.
