Question

To ask the Scottish Government which drug rehabilitation programmes it provides funding for, also broken down by NHS board.


Answer

The Scottish Government does not directly fund any drug rehabilitation programmes.

Since 2009, the Scottish Government has provided funding towards Scotland's 30 alcohol and drug partnerships (ADPs), embedded within existing community planning structures. ADPs have clear responsibility for developing local strategies and to make sure there is access to a range of appropriate treatment services to promote recovery according to local need and in line with the evidence base for effective treatment provision. £30.4 million was provided to NHS boards for frontline drug treatment services and support in 2015-16.

The following table provides a breakdown of the range of different treatment options offered across health boards between April 2014 and March 2015:
