Sleep in the Park Raises Awareness of Homelessness

  • Submitted by: Alexander Burnett, Aberdeenshire West, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 10 December 2018
  • Motion reference: S5M-15101

That the Parliament recognises the community spirit and fundraising efforts of everyone who took part in the Sleep in the Park events, which took place in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee recently; acknowledges that these events attempt to raise awareness of and funds for homeless people and the conditions that they experience; thanks SocialBite for organising the annual event and the positive impact that it has on homeless people in cities across Scotland, and recognises that these events do not claim to replicate the longer-term involuntary experience of homeless people who often experience intolerable conditions.
