That the Parliament congratulates the merger of the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR) and the British Hospitality Association (BHA) into UKHospitality; considers that it provides a unified voice for the hospitality industry, representing over 700 companies, and speaks for a sector that it understands represents 10% of UK employment, 6% of businesses and 5% of GDP, and hopes that this will unlock the industry’s full potential as what its sees as one of the biggest engines for growth in the economy and the major component of the country's tourism industry.
