World Polio Day 2017

That the Parliament recognises World Polio Day 2017; commends Rotary International on what it sees as the organisation's role at the forefront of the campaign to eradicate the disease; celebrates the contribution of Rotary districts and clubs in Scotland to the Purple4Polio campaign; understands that the annual number of cases of polio has reduced from around 350,000 in 1985 to 12 in 2017, and hopes that the aim of a polio-free world by 2020 at the latest is achieved.
