New Minister for Willowbrae Parish Church

  • Submitted by: Miles Briggs, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 21 March 2017
  • Motion reference: S5M-04751

That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Reverend Malcolm Ramsay has taken up a new role as the first Minister of a newly-formed congregation at Willowbrae Parish Church in Willowbrae Road in Edinburgh, which was created following the merger of the two congregations at New Restalrig and Craigentinny St Christopher’s; is aware that he has latterly spent four years in Kathmandu in Nepal where he worked for a Christian development agency and helped survivors of the devastating earthquake there in 2015; is further aware that Reverend Ramsay, who was ordained in Edinburgh 31 years ago, also previously served as a Minister in churches in Pitlochry and Newton Stewart, and wishes him well in his new role as he seeks to build community-based church life at Willowbrae Parish Church.
