Lanarkshire Credit Union’s 25th Birthday

That the Parliament congratulates the members of Lanarkshire Credit Union on its 25th birthday; acknowledges the determination of its founding member, Bart McLean, to help people save money when he established it in November 1991; notes that, in 2014, Blantyre and South Lanarkshire Credit Union expanded its common bond area to include both North and South Lanarkshire, which led to the establishment of the rebranded Lanarkshire Credit Union in 2016; understands that it has 14,394 adult savers, who have combined savings of over £14 million; recognises the credit union's work with young people in the community, with it having 7,822 junior savers who have over £767,000 in total savings, and wishes all of its members the best for the future.
