That the Parliament congratulates Morna O’May of Kippen, head of service at Contact the Elderly Scotland, the rest of the team and all volunteers, on winning the Herald Society Award 2016 for Older People’s Project of the Year; considers that the work of Contact the Elderly Scotland in organising volunteer-led monthly Sunday tea parties for isolated older people is a real lifeline of friendship, and commends Contact the Elderly Scotland for its valuable work in tackling loneliness and social isolation among older people.
