Award for Edinburgh Napier University’s Professor Dan Ridley-Ellis

That the Parliament congratulates Edinburgh Napier University’s Professor Dan Ridley-Ellis on being named the 2016 Woodland Hero by Grown in Britain; notes that Professor Ridley-Ellis was praised for his and his team’s research into the domestically grown timber sector; further notes that he is a world expert on timber grading, resource assessment and segregation of timber into the most appropriate markets and has played a key role in developing timber standards; acknowledges that his award follows the university’s Institute for Sustainable Construction recently receiving the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for its internationally acclaimed work on timber engineering, sustainable construction and wood science, and wishes Professor Ridley-Ellis and his colleagues and students continued success in the future.
