On Friday 26 May 2017, in my position as Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism and External Affairs, I attended the “Remarks by the Honourable Barack H Obama” event in Edinburgh as a guest of Diageo plc. (a multinational alcoholic beverages company of 5 Lochside Way, Edinburgh EH12 9DT). The cost of hospitality for the evening was £1,000 which was met by Diageo.
Overseas visits
I attended and contributed to the ‘Four Day week International Summit ‘ held in Valencia between the 26th and 29th May 2022. The cost was met by the Employment Department of the Government of Valencia (Valencia Regional Government Palace, C/ Dels Cavallers, 2, 46001 València, Spain) and came to a total of 2,254 Euros for travel, hotel and meals. From 4 July to 8 July 2022 I visited Munich and Berlin, Germany, as part of a cross-Party delegation from the Scottish Parliament, meeting Parliamentarians, public officials and business representatives, as a guest of the Hanns Seidel Foundation. The costs of the visit, including travel, accommodation, meals and translation services amounted to £1460 and were paid by the Hanns Seidel Foundation (a political research foundation of Munich, Germany).
