We have been in touch with MSPs from across the political spectrum. These include Jim Hume, Marco Biagi, Alison Johnstone, Siobhan McMahon, Kezia Dugdale, James Kelly and Sarah Boyack, who lodged a Parliamentary Motion highlighting the concerns around the lack of accessible housing.
We wrote to the Scottish Government Housing Minister about this issue and received a response noting the importance of accessible housing, but which failed to provide a commitment for the government to introduce a national target on the number of disabled-friendly homes and which did not address our specific concerns.
In addition to this, we published a report in 2014 highlighting this issue and have been campaigning on the issue nationally. We presented our report at the Cross-Party Group on Disability and are submitting a petition on this same subject to the National Assembly for Wales.
