How can I get my voice heard at Holyrood?
People from local community groups learned how to engage effectively with MSPs and the Parliament at a half day conference.
What kind of workshops and presentations were there?
The conference consisted of a number of short workshops and presentations aimed at ‘skilling up’ community groups, covering topics such as:
- How the Scottish Parliament works
- How laws are made
- How to submit a petition
- How to engage through social media
- How to work with local media
- How to engage with Parliamentary Committees
There was also a range of stalls providing details of how to get involved, covering other engagement methods such as Cross-Party Groups, etc.
Who was it for?
The Conference was aimed specifically at grass-roots, community-based organisations and was ideally suited for people who have little or no experience of engaging with their MSPs and the Parliament.
