Lobbying Register Guidance

As of today (7 September) we are making available to stakeholders our draft Parliamentary Guidance document. This has been produced to assist with stakeholder preparations for the implementation of the Lobbying (Scotland) Act 2016.

Since last year we have undertaken an extensive range of engagements, meeting with representatives from over 150 organisations and representative bodies from various sectors. This essential feedback has been very welcome and helpful in the development of draft Parliamentary Guidance.

This input has also helped to underpin the work of the Lobbying Register Working Group, which has been focussing on developing guidance since Spring this year.

As such we are now able to provide a version of the draft Parliamentary Guidance, below:

Although this guidance is now at a very advanced stage, we would still ask stakeholders to provide any comments specifically relating only to any errors or omissions by 28 September 2017. Thereafter, as a requirement of the Act, Scottish Ministers must be consulted before the guidance is formally published.

Comments can be sent to the Lobbying Register Team mailbox at: Lobbying@parliament.scot

To assist stakeholders further the Lobbying Register Working Group has produced two further documents, which we hope will also be of assistance.
