The A77 is long overdue an upgrade of this scale south of Ayr. Not only with bypasses for the affected communities but also that there are sections that are prone to landslips. These landslips seem to take years to fix, when similar situations elsewhere are solved very quickly in comparison, such as the A9 Perth to Pitlochry in August 2004, A83 Rest and Be Thankful, A82 Spean Bridge to Invergarry.

There would be huge financial benefits to both South Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway, not only for the economy and tourism possibilities, but also a fantastic chance to increase commerce between Scotland and Northern Ireland.

A boost to the economy of this forgotten corner of Scotland is way long over due.

Please, please can we have a bypasss at Maybole

There is not a day passes when their is not a set of traffic lights on this road how much money is it costing us in a year to fix this road, if this was in England it would me a motorway it's a mean trunk road

This road is very dangerous at various points. Under viaduct before Minishant big lorries are in centre of the road. Last week a sheep any lamb were at the side of the road on the grass verge. I came off the A77 to find a farm to report it to. Unlucky at farm cottages But slowed down a police car who said they would attend to it. animals still there at 6.00 when returned south. We came off the A77 again and found lovely lady who said they had been in and out for days. Three days later a strong fence has been erected

This is incredibly important to the ports on the A77 and Euro routes and employment of the surrounding area . The road is in an appalling state of repair for a A class road and never seems to be repaired . It's a disgrace!

The roads are a disgrace in neeed of repair and upgrade land slips and roads that have had temp traffic lights for over a year. How there has not been a serious accident from Stranraer to Ayr I will never know seriously needs money spent on them. Pay road tax for our cars to get wrecked on the huge pot holes the roads abroad are in better condition

The condition of the A77 road is appalling,it is long overdue an upgrade the residents and indeed all users of the A77 need this to happen now before more sorrow and heartache occurs on this so called A class road.

Used the A77 regularly to Ayr and Irvine for the last 25 years. And disgusted with the lack of improvements over the time, also more recently the lack of maintenances I.e. Potholes left for months before receiving attention. Wigtownshire will never fully got the tourists it deserves until the A77 and A75 have massive investment. I am a retired person with no business interest but feel for the people who do. NOW is the time for action...

Feels like you are driving in a third world country at times when trying to negotiate the numerous hazards presented to you on this road. The upgrade is now long overdue and the residents and indeed all users of the A77 need this to happen now before more sorrow and heartache occurs on this so called A class road.
